Recipe Import Guidelines
Recipe import is designed to save you from retyping recipe facts. It does not give you permission to use content that belongs to someone else. Only import material you created, are authorized to use, or can otherwise lawfully use.
Ingredients, amounts, and cooking processes may be treated differently from creative writing, photographs, and illustrations. Do not assume that an entire recipe webpage is free to copy.
You are responsible for reviewing every imported recipe before you create or publish it. Automated parsing and AI cleanup can make mistakes and cannot determine whether you have the necessary rights.
Before creating an imported recipe
- Check the title, ingredients, amounts, serving information, allergens, temperatures, safety information, instructions, and tips for accuracy.
- Remove personal information, biographies, anecdotes, photo captions, credits, social handles, addresses, and other material that is not needed to prepare the recipe.
- Do not copy distinctive commentary, storytelling, reviews, promotional language, or other expressive material from a source.
- Only upload images that you created or have permission to use, and obtain appropriate consent for identifiable people. RecipeLab does not copy a website's photo into the final recipe.
How AI-assisted import works
When enabled, RecipeLab uses AI to organize recipe data, create a new short factual description, simplify recipe titles, and rewrite or omit personal, promotional, or attribution-only wording in instructions and tips. When AI is disabled or unavailable, imported descriptions are left blank.
AI cleanup is an editing aid, not a legal review or a guarantee. Always read the final recipe and make any necessary changes yourself.
Publishing and Creator accounts
The same rules apply whether a recipe stays private, is shared, or is published through a Creator account. Importing a recipe does not transfer ownership or grant a license, and charging for access to a collection does not change your responsibility for its contents.
Do not use RecipeLab to bulk republish another person's or publisher's collection. Creator content must also follow all applicable RecipeLab content and quality requirements.

RecipeLab may remove reported content and applies the DMCA and repeat-infringer processes described in its Terms. These guidelines summarize product expectations; they do not replace the Terms or provide individualized legal advice.
